Urtica Privacy Policy
Last updated: 6 July 2026
Urtica is a symptom diary for chronic hives (urticaria). It is built so that your health data stays on your device.
What Urtica stores
Urtica stores the following on your device only:
- Daily itch and hives (wheals) severity scores you enter
- Medications you log
- App settings (reminder time, language, preferences)
Urtica has no user accounts, no cloud sync, no advertising, and no analytics. We cannot see, access, or recover anything you record.
Depending on your phone's backup settings, app data may be included in your device backup (for example iCloud or Google device backup). Those backups are managed by your device, not by Urtica.
Crash reports (optional, off by default)
Urtica's only network feature is crash reporting via Firebase Crashlytics, a service operated by Google. It is switched off by default and is used only if you enable "Send crash reports" in Settings.
When enabled, a crash report may include: device model, operating system version, app version, a technical stack trace of what the app was doing when it failed, and a random installation identifier. Crash reports never include your symptom entries, medications, or any content you typed into the app.
You can switch crash reporting off at any time in Settings; doing so also discards any reports that have not yet been sent. Google's processing of crash data is described in the Firebase privacy documentation.
Deleting your data
Settings → "Delete all data" permanently deletes every score, medication, and setting stored on your device. This cannot be undone. Uninstalling the app also removes all locally stored data (subject to your device backup settings).
Children
Urtica is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from anyone — all health data stays on the device.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this address with a new "last updated" date. The app will never start sending data off the device without asking you first.
